No, precipitation happens when the solution is stored at cooler temperatures. Thallium sulfate solutions should always be stored at room temperature to avoid solubility issues. Always check the recommended storage conditions before storing your assay kit.
Yes. If you don’t need use the entire vial at once, you can dissolve the dye in DMSO, remove what you need, and freeze the remaining solution. We recommend limiting the number of freeze/thaw cycles to 2 for best product performance.
This is not recommended. Some reagents in the dye loading solution may precipitate during freezing and will not re-dissolve when thawed.
Yes. Products that are shipped at ambient temperatures are stable during transit. Upon receipt of your shipment, store your products at the recommended temperature(s).
Don’t be alarmed. Some of our dyes (e.g. Thallos AM and ICR-1 AM) are optically transparent, even after dissolving in DMSO.
We recommend dissolving your AM dye first in DMSO, then adding 0.1M KOH to remove the esters and convert the dye to its active salt form. Wait at least 15 minutes for full hydrolysis to occur. View our Tatum video descriptor , click to view.
TRS is a red dye that quenches extracellular fluorescence when added to your assay buffer, allowing you to ensure that your signal is coming from within your cells. It is most commonly used to perform no-wash assays.
